In 2017 I photographed this Fall Wedding in Des Moines, Washington. Many of my readers see my numbers and think, “how the heck did she shoot 75+ weddings and we’ve only seen like 20?”. I hear you! I was so busy serving my couples, I didn’t make time to create a system for regular sharing. This year, as I dive into my education, I will be going back through old weddings, updating editing, and finally sharing them!
Katherine and Mike had beautiful details! They were married at a community club house on the water near Katherine’s Grandmother’s property where she grew up playing by the Pacific Northwest Beach.
Their most popular vendor was definitely Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream.
It was like dessert and a show! Their servers were so sweet and their menu featured the cutest flavor combo titles. If you are an ice cream loving couple, I would definitely recommend them! Waiting in line for a treat is made more fun by watching their entertaining process.
As you’ll be able to tell by the shoe and ring shots, I was pretty inspired by a moss covered bench decorating Katherine’s back yard. It sat under an old apple tree and I was able to move it into cleaner light. This effort resulted in some of my favorite detail shots to date.
Katherine and Mike had their first look by the ocean just a short walk down from their wedding venue. I find wind romantic and was up for the challenge! After a touching first look and couples portraits, we met up with their bridal party. We had so much fun taking group shots while watching the…kite surfers(??) do their thing. I left kites in some of the images for fun.
When I first began scrolling through past weddings to update and publish, the memory of these fall colors pulled me right in! A big THANK YOU to Katherine and Mike for inviting me to document this insanely fun day! Enjoy!
