I can not fail.

This is a segment from a personal journal entry I wrote on January 16, 2020.

“Today, I don’t turn around and go back to The Little Blue House (Studio). Today, I parked. I Let myself in with MY keys. I sit on the floor with my sandwich, the place needs cleaned, painted, the only thing of “mine” here is the unfinished walls, my planner, and new candles. A single glass, & a bottle of Champagne. I did it. I made it. It’s mine. I’m here. I am divinely supported. I can not fail. It would be impossible.”

First day in the New Location. Jaclynn Wilkinson

I sat on a dirty floor. Lit a candle. Surrounded by paint cans & DIY fixer-up supplies with two weeks of hard work ahead but my heart melted as my mind said, “yup. This is a feeling I know.”

For MONTHS I took a detour on the way to The Little Blue Studio. I turned right when I was supposed to go straight. Then, I’d drive just 10 seconds down a steep hill until I saw my building. I said, “That’s yours, you know?”. Flipped a U at the bottom of the hill and drove back to my tiny studio. “Some, Day, I’ll park…”

I can’t wait to share more of this story with you.

FYI: The new space looks nothing like this photo any more…
but it feels the exact same to me. ♥

I can not fail.

A little family Wellman Update dump. Morning! I’ve struggled coming back in to write lately. I abandoned my last post in tears over the current state of The Studio. My camera bag was stolen about a year ago. Everything I’ve photographed in 2024 has been on rented equipment. Being abandoned with the children with zero […]

Early October I got to experience an adventurous and romantic Swiss Autumn with my long distance partner. We traveled deep into the Swiss mountains, ate all the yummy food, met old friends, went to a dance party, made some new friends, enjoyed a private sauna with an impressive view, took naps, snuggled, and went on […]

We have to get a little creative here with our PNW Photojournalism. One of the first things you learn as a new natural light photographer is how incredible a big window can make any room look. A tiny corner in the most unassuming place, if sitting close to a window can produce the most magical […]

Tonight, I took the boys to the Everett Haunted Harbor community event! Everyone putting it on was so sweet and we all had a blast! Thank you to all the boat volunteers! We started with trick or treating at the boats, watching witches paddle board around the harbor, petting all the neighbor dogs, and watched […]
