Olympia Family Mini Session

Part three of Olympia Family Mini Session (s) Spring 2019! These were taken at Nisqually Wildlife Refuge in Olympia, Washington.

Mariah, Chris, Landon, & Willow!

I love being able to photograph the same families year after year. It puts my progress on obvious display seeing my photos through the years with the same subjects.

For those of you who don’t already know, Mariah is my soul sister. We’ve been through just as much together (if not more) than all of my bio sisters. She unconditionally loves me, as I am, like family should. I 100% feel the same towards her. ♥ We graduated highschool together, joined the army together, she was my bridesmaid, we deployed hand in hand, she was my unplanned doula through birthing James, and Clynn and I would take in her kiddos in case of an emergency without hesitation.

Every spring (and sometimes winter) she secures her slot for minis and I love getting the chance to be her family photographer!

Kids grow so big so fast! I love comparing photos of these two with even six months differences. Yearly family photos are so important. Especially, if you’re not much of a photo taker yourself.

Thank you for making these sessions a priority, Mariah! Thank you, Chris, for being such an awesome sport! He was so great with Landon and Willow and taking the cutest mini couples session at the end. It’s the best when my Dad’s/Dudes are on board for photos, too!

I hope you enjoy scrolling through this cute family! You can leave viewing these photos feeling each quarky, silly, loving corner of each personality. ♥

A little family Wellman Update dump. Morning! I’ve struggled coming back in to write lately. I abandoned my last post in tears over the current state of The Studio. My camera bag was stolen about a year ago. Everything I’ve photographed in 2024 has been on rented equipment. Being abandoned with the children with zero […]

Early October I got to experience an adventurous and romantic Swiss Autumn with my long distance partner. We traveled deep into the Swiss mountains, ate all the yummy food, met old friends, went to a dance party, made some new friends, enjoyed a private sauna with an impressive view, took naps, snuggled, and went on […]

We have to get a little creative here with our PNW Photojournalism. One of the first things you learn as a new natural light photographer is how incredible a big window can make any room look. A tiny corner in the most unassuming place, if sitting close to a window can produce the most magical […]

Tonight, I took the boys to the Everett Haunted Harbor community event! Everyone putting it on was so sweet and we all had a blast! Thank you to all the boat volunteers! We started with trick or treating at the boats, watching witches paddle board around the harbor, petting all the neighbor dogs, and watched […]
