Ruston Chapel Wedding

Every time I book a wedding at Ruston Chapel, I smile. Working with this little Tacoma Chapel has always been a pleasure. I know it’s typically an in-and-out experience but there’s something about this place that feels so right for all of my couples who choose it.

Deiona & Jay were married at the Ruston Chapel in Tacoma, Washington in 2020. It was a beautiful small ceremony with their large blended family!

We started the day with a first look and bridal party photos at Point Defiance Park. Ruston Chapel is a wonderful location in part because of its proximity to Point Defiance Park! It’s a wonderful location for a variety of portraits just a block or two down the street from Ruston Chapel.

It was a lovely, though hot, ceremony! Luckily, we had plenty of outdoor spots to escape the heat and the ceremony was not short on laughs.

Deiona & Jay were most excited to have all of their family together. We took extra time to get big family photos and we were both so happy with how they turned out!

After receiving her gallery, Deiona shared:

Jaclynn did amazing work for our covid wedding. She was so helpful with the planning-replanning and replanning again that took place due to the pandemic. Her attention to detail was great. Our wedding photos are the first of all professional photos I’ve had done that I was completely happy with, so grateful we found her for our big day!

Thank you so much, Deiona & Jay for a beautiful collaboration. You provided a free and creative work environment and I loved documenting your wedding day at The Ruston Chapel! CONGRATULATIONS and I definitely hope to see you two for family/anniversary photos down the road. ♥

A little family Wellman Update dump. Morning! I’ve struggled coming back in to write lately. I abandoned my last post in tears over the current state of The Studio. My camera bag was stolen about a year ago. Everything I’ve photographed in 2024 has been on rented equipment. Being abandoned with the children with zero […]

Early October I got to experience an adventurous and romantic Swiss Autumn with my long distance partner. We traveled deep into the Swiss mountains, ate all the yummy food, met old friends, went to a dance party, made some new friends, enjoyed a private sauna with an impressive view, took naps, snuggled, and went on […]

We have to get a little creative here with our PNW Photojournalism. One of the first things you learn as a new natural light photographer is how incredible a big window can make any room look. A tiny corner in the most unassuming place, if sitting close to a window can produce the most magical […]

Tonight, I took the boys to the Everett Haunted Harbor community event! Everyone putting it on was so sweet and we all had a blast! Thank you to all the boat volunteers! We started with trick or treating at the boats, watching witches paddle board around the harbor, petting all the neighbor dogs, and watched […]
