Seattle Ballroom Proposal

Jun

Emily & Joe’s Seattle Ballroom Proposal was not an easy one to organize but worth EVERY effort. Oh, boy, did Joe give this his everything. Originally, We had planned on a hot air balloon proposal. He was going to propose as the balloon was inflated before they took off. However, the Seattle weather was not working in our favor that day for a balloon ride so their pilot had to cancel.

Joe already had a backup plan in place. Emily and him met ballroom dancing and it is a very special part of their relationship. They were here for a little trip from out of state and he found Century Ballroom! I can’t recall if they had commpeted there, or he just knew they had a beautiful ballroom…but right outside the ballroom, is a bar. He told Emily, they were just going for drinks at this bar. He had called ahead of time to organize with the ballroom if he could pretend to “sneak in” with her to dance and propose. They even set up a beautiful champagne table for them they brought in as soon as he was done proposing.

I hid up in the rafters. Set my flash up discretely and kept my flash remote off until he was on his knee. Then, I popped it on and fired away! It was so beautiful!

They were at drinks then he tells her “Let’s see if the door is open?!” “Snuck” her in and played a little music and they danced before he proposed. She was so surprised! I stood and waved from the rafters as they toasted champagne then came down for a few photos.

THAT RINGGGG. Good job, Joe. Congratulations, Joe & Emily! I loved documenting your special day before the big day!!!

Early October I got to experience an adventurous and romantic Swiss Autumn with my long distance partner. We traveled deep into the Swiss mountains, ate all the yummy food, met old friends, went to a dance party, made some new friends, enjoyed a private sauna with an impressive view, took naps, snuggled, and went on […]

We have to get a little creative here with our PNW Photojournalism. One of the first things you learn as a new natural light photographer is how incredible a big window can make any room look. A tiny corner in the most unassuming place, if sitting close to a window can produce the most magical […]

Tonight, I took the boys to the Everett Haunted Harbor community event! Everyone putting it on was so sweet and we all had a blast! Thank you to all the boat volunteers! We started with trick or treating at the boats, watching witches paddle board around the harbor, petting all the neighbor dogs, and watched […]

Hey, Mommas. Take a look at your babies now. Go ahead. Just take a quick peek. They grow. Today was a bit exhausting, wasn’t it? There were moments of things never being quite perfect. You tried your best and showed up in every way you could possibly think to and still, you fell short in […]
