The following images are from a wedding I did earlier this year at Yang’s Botanical Gardens for Kelly and Allan. This was before anything Covid began in the U.S. so probably early March or February.
Kelly and Allan’s wedding had allot of Irish elements as a nod to their heritage. They’re also big Subaru fans and even had a few of these photos published by Subaru!
Kelly’s boots and the print on their wedding cake were custom designed to match the family’s specific plaid pattern. I wish I knew the exact terms for this, but I found out through shooting this wedding that different families in Ireland have specific plaid patterns for their family name. So cool!
I was so happy Allan found space for his service dog on their wedding day! I love when my couple’s find a way to fit in a few photos with their family dog on the big day. Sleepy may look a elderly, but he’s still all puppy in energy!
Other than Kelly and Allan, of course, my favorite relationship to watch at this wedding was the two young cousins of the family! Bryson & Rylee are such fun cousins. They played together like siblings and were the only kids at the wedding. There was an entire area of the reception venue open for them to run and play together. They reminded me so much of family events with my cousins growing up. It made me so happy to see they have each other and are such great friends!
I DEFINITELY hope to photograph a summer wedding at Yang’s Botanical Garden’s some day. The indoor location was perfect for a small winter/early spring wedding but I can tell the grounds are stunning! We were lucky the weather held out a little while for the ceremony and portraits on the balcony. I took a few photos of our view. What’s not to love about Washington friendly palm trees?! What a beautiful Tropical Meets Pacific Northwest wedding venue.
The food was by CJ’s Deli & Catering. The food was AMAZING. Custom Cake by Nostalgia House Bakery.
