Hey, Mommas. Take a look at your babies now. Go ahead. Just take a quick peek. They grow.
Today was a bit exhausting, wasn’t it? There were moments of things never being quite perfect. You tried your best and showed up in every way you could possibly think to and still, you fell short in some way.
I’d like to turn your attention to the moments that didn’t.
I know it feels like the focus was on when you couldn’t do enough…but I promise you, it wasn’t.
They remember the things you could do. They remember the fun and the smiles and the laughs along the way.
THANK GOD, preservation instincts are in our favor. For now.
You’re doing great, Momma.
This is their childhood. This is YOUR young-mid adulthood.
I hope you refocus your memories to match the FUN and innocence of theirs.
You’ll remember the giggles and the hugs and the cheek kisses. I hope you remember the smiles and laughs that happen around the fit that took so much out of you.
You are doing great. They are doing great. And remember, THEY GROW.
As James and Leo ran around their school event I was shocked by the size of the kids just one grade above James and I realized how close I am to him being the same size as me.
Embrace this year, last year, and the next. It truly goes by so fast and feels so long. It’s the most painful hell and the most luxurious heaven. Parenthood is the yin yang we were never truly prepared for.
You can. We will. They grow. You grow. We’ll get through this.
Sincerely, your single Momma bestie.
