Clynn’s off to Vegas!

Aug

22

For the last couple years, Clynn and I have taken 4-6 days to head down to Vegas. This time, I’m staying home and Clynn’s off to Vegas for his fourth year in a row!

I’m a little bummed. For the last couple years we used this time to reflect on our lives, our goals, where we’re headed…

This year, I gave up the trip because of my December trip back to Honduras! In 2013 I lived in Honduras for the better part of a year. It was one of the most amazing hard years ever. When I came home, I knew I had left a part of my heart in Central America in the little town of Comayagua and not so little city of Tegucigalpa.

Several times a year since, I have a super vivid dream I’m there. I’ve always known I need to go back. When we hit the new year of 2019 with my business on pretty solid ground, I knew this was the year.

In place of the bonding we usually do in Vegas, we took this trip and this trip to Sheep Lake & a little small town hotel stay. Both trips were amazing.

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to travel every year. We take such fun trips and I’m one of the only people I know that get giddy with excitement going through the airport process every time.

That being said, I can’t wait for the day we don’t choose! When the little ones are old enough to watch themselves and we just go wherever whenever it feels right. I can’t wait to go on trips where we stay an extra week on a whim!

I know that day will come…and it’s not too far off.

He’ll be meeting up with a bunch of our friends in the MTG community. They create content for their channels, do interviews, and stay up all night in a suite playing games. They occasionally head out to toast to the year and find the most pricey plate of amazing food they can find.

Here are a couple videos we cameo in over the past few years:

Have fun, Clynn!!!

A little family Wellman Update dump. Morning! I’ve struggled coming back in to write lately. I abandoned my last post in tears over the current state of The Studio. My camera bag was stolen about a year ago. Everything I’ve photographed in 2024 has been on rented equipment. Being abandoned with the children with zero […]

Early October I got to experience an adventurous and romantic Swiss Autumn with my long distance partner. We traveled deep into the Swiss mountains, ate all the yummy food, met old friends, went to a dance party, made some new friends, enjoyed a private sauna with an impressive view, took naps, snuggled, and went on […]

We have to get a little creative here with our PNW Photojournalism. One of the first things you learn as a new natural light photographer is how incredible a big window can make any room look. A tiny corner in the most unassuming place, if sitting close to a window can produce the most magical […]

Tonight, I took the boys to the Everett Haunted Harbor community event! Everyone putting it on was so sweet and we all had a blast! Thank you to all the boat volunteers! We started with trick or treating at the boats, watching witches paddle board around the harbor, petting all the neighbor dogs, and watched […]
