Sierra & Salvatore’s intimate Tacoma Spring Wedding was beautiful and so perfectly timed, if you ask me…and probably every one there.
Their big plans turned into an immediate friends and family backyard celebration of about 15. They were ready to be married so they pushed back the reception and moved up the ceremony. The ceremony was live streamed on Facebook for their friends. When I showed up, they were just finishing up a beautiful meal at a reception table that had been decorated with wood rounds and flowers.
Salvatore is Italian and his father who was officiating was straight out of a movie with his thick Italian accent. He sung opera, talked about good wine, and provided fancy cigars.
Sierra made her own dress!!! This was definitely my favorite detail to photograph. She is a professional, very talented, Macrame Artist.

One of her bridesmaids and I were saying she should make a couple more and do wedding shows! This is as boho-chic as it gets. I sure hope she does. Sierra made the bouquet details as well.
One of her bridesmaids did her hair! She did such a great job and took the time needed to get each flower perfect. I will come back and link her if I can figure out how! Her Instagram was private so I’ll find a way to credit her, soon!
After the ceremony, we signed paperwork, toasted champagne, shared cupcakes, then hopped in the car to head to the park for a mini group hike and photos!
We went to Titlow Beach Park. It was my first time walking past the wedding venue there and venturing into the trails. Imagine my surprise when the end of one opened up to a view of the Tacoma Narrow’s Bridge! We were right on a cute little beach with an awesome abandoned concrete feature. I’m now calling this location my “California meets Washington Location”. I even had to bring my boys back a couple days later to see it, too.
If you do go, don’t forget bug spray!
This was my first time shooting a wedding in nearly four months. I was a little down from all the Covid-Lock down time and I couldn’t believe how quickly shooting Sierra & Salvatore raised my spirits. Their love was contagious.
As we walked out of the park every one who saw Sierra & Sal smiled at us and often shouted “Congratulations!!!”. I think they weren’t just a blessing to me this day. They were a blessing of hope and love to every one who saw them at a time when every one needed to see that most.
THANK YOU, Sierra & Salvatore, for inviting me to document your backyard wedding ceremony and showing me Titlow Beach. Thank you, for reminding me why I do what I do and being one of the kindest most flexible couples. Lastly, THANK YOU from everyone who doesn’t know you who got to see you on your wedding day. You left smiles all over that park. I saw it. ♥
